The market was teeming with shoppers today - more than usual, it seemed. Anticipating the arrival of the Time Traveller, the size of my purchases doubled and in response the zipper on my backpack gave out. No problem, mish mushkila, because one of the vendors sold me 10 big safety pins which I used to seal the bag shut.
Fresh orange juice for tomorrow's breakfast! 2 kilos cost 3LE (about 60 cents).
Further to the discussion of the stuffing in my sofa, here are brooms (on the left) made of the same inner bark of the palm tree. All the items in this photo are made from the palm. It has so many uses beyond its fruit.
