Sunset Walk
We strolled together across different fields this evening. The Time Traveller headed off to inspect progress on the new kitchen cabinets at the carpenter's workshop and I headed to try a local 'restaurant' whose lentil soup came recommended.
The wheat field beside our place looks ready for harvest. I look forward to exploring that stand of date palms. They were so beautiful today with their fronds blowing in the breeze.
Focusing on the symbiotic relationship between the sheep and egrets, I never saw the farmer resting while his 'flock' (do five sheep make a flock?) ate their evening meal.

Question - the time traveller is walking away from a distant view - in that picture it seems as if the building code dictates that no apartment (building) shall be taller than the tallest palm tree - is that true? - and if so how ancient is that ruling? Are temples exempt?
ReplyDeleteAh, now that would be such a thoughtful building code! . . . particularly for buildings like ours that are in the agricultural zone. But, alas, there is no such concern for life-enhancing vistas here. Public-minded authorities tried to limit the size of buildings and maintain the elegant (and green) villas in the once-beautiful Cairo suburb of Maadi, where we used to live -- for naught. The lengths that greedy contractors will go to circumvent the law so willfully disgust me. (Sorry for the rant.)
