Dad and I began the day with a hike through the banana grove and along the Nile. We met many friendly folk along the way, all working even though today is "Labour Day".
Crops and animals don't recognize the holiday, I guess.
But we laboured not. The evening found us beside the Nile again, this time at the Tutankhamun Restaurant. It offers tasty Egyptian food under an open sky and with a beautiful view across the Nile.
Much of the food is slow baked for hours in ceramic bowls and arrives at the table piping hot.
