With years a richer life begins, the spirit mellows: ripe age gives tones to violins, wine, and good fellows.
John Townsend Trowbridge, American author (1827–1916)
Buon cibo, buon vino, buoni amici: today I lived a little "dolce vita" as my out-of-town friends joined me for a mini wine tour in the Niagara peninsula, concluded by a fabulous lunch (and more wine) overlooking the cabernet-franc vineyard of the Good Earth winery. Peppering our conversations were sketches of good times spent in Italy and here we were in the homeland living out the old Italian axiom of perfection: good food, good wine and good friends. Life is good. Life is sweet. Grazie!
