Snow Birds

A light broke in upon my soul--
It was the carol of a bird;
It ceased--and then it came again
The sweetest song ear ever heard.
Lord Bryron

Here in the homeland, "snow birds" refers to retired individuals who have the resources to head south when it gets cold. Florida, Texas, and New Mexico are their winter habitats. My snow birds appeared in the tree in front of the living room window; radiant against the grey winter sky.

Had to zoom in on this one to confirm they weren't real. fooled me good. I would love to see red cardinals out here, but alas no more.
