Vintage Lace

Lace and crochet the colour of clotted cream have a feeling of summer idylls . . .
Fashion News blog (2012)

An old cigar box full of vintage lace made for such a pretty tableau. It was my special 'find' today from among the boxes stored for 18 years and moved across country a couple of times. This precious yet simple, re-cycled box seems to hold so many untold stories. How I wish the lace could talk!

Fabulous...now to clean them....my mom has many pieces like this too, and I have tried to think how to utilize them...maybe Pinterest Old Lace would have some ideas. pmc.

We had some of Great? Grandma's embroidered pillow cases that I think your Mom or one of the Aunts had made into dolls with lace accents. I have one and I'm not sure who else does. Maybe an idea? I also have a doilie that your Mom had mounted and framed.

Yes, Mom has a beautiful doll dressed in an antique pillow case. I know I should do something with this lace, but right at the moment I just like to open the lid and ponder the delicate history inside the box. To me, the little box is a work of art.
